Abarent Construction Ltd. - foundation rehabilitation on permafrost for Spruce Bough Women's Shelter, Yellowknife, NWT

The existing inn, being remodelled as a women's shelter, has sustained a significant structural and major foundation damage due to failure of its pile foundation subject to the movements of permafrost the building resides on. Pro Dynamic has developed an adaptable "Multi-frame" support system, able to negotiate the differential settlement of up to 3 supports in a row and still retain the loads from the existing grade beams. The continuing movements of the subsoil can be compensated for by adjustable bases and/or shimming.

Foundation failure due to permafrost settlement and downslope sliding
