Park Towers Condominium, Edmonton, AB - parkade integrity study

The parkade slab of this condo in Edmonton has developed major cracks, leaks and concrete spalling. Using thermal scanning of the parkade slab, Pro Dynamic was able to trace the leaks to seemingly minor disruptions of the traffic-bearing surface membrane.

For slab analysis in the presence of rebar corrosion, special methods were developed, which were of research significance and reported on SEMNI 2022 Congress on Computational Methods in Engineering in Las Palmas, Spain. Based on this analysis, proposals for slab repair were developed, which did not require taking it out of service or massive concrete demolition. A probabilistic assessment of the remaining life term of the slab was performed.
